On February 12, 2014, the state council revised and passed Regulations for the Supervision and Administration of Medical Devices in its 39th executive meeting, coming into force on June 1, 2014.

According to the new regulations, Class I MDs will no longer be registered, but will follow a filing procedure. Validity of certificate for Class II and Class III products are expanded to 5 years.
