On May 23, 2014, CFDA made an announcement, to clarify administrative measures before regulations and normative documents to go with Regulations for the Supervision and Administration of Medical Devices come out.

The announcement indicates that before any new CFDA regulation or normative document comes out, the administration of product registration follows current provisions.

For registration decision made after June 1, 2014, however, the validity of product certificate is extended to five years.
